RÉSUMÉ : This talk will describe some of the challenges associated with delivering goods to the home in a way that is profitable for businesses. I will review some of the research problems that have been studied in this area, but will focus on the problem of deciding which time slots to offer to different customer zipcodes. This is a difficult problem because more time slots allow more demand to be captured but also create higher distribution costs. We will examine this tradeoff and discuss how we handle it in our integer programming-based approach
